Friend:

As Somerville prepares to vote in Tuesday’s preliminary election, I want to take a moment to recognize and appreciate the campaign we’ve built over the past nine months.

Ours is the Somerville-powered campaign in this race, funded overwhelmingly by contributions from Somerville residents and featuring a volunteer base made up almost entirely of our neighbors from across Somerville.

On the money side, the latest Office of Campaign and Political Finance updates from the end of August really say it all. Since we launched this campaign on December 16, 2024, we have raised more money from Somervillians than the other two campaigns combined.

2025 Mayoral Contributions from Somerville

There is a lot of outside money in this race, particularly going to the incumbent. During this time period, just 19.8% of the Mayor's campaign contributions have come from Somerville.

2025 Mayoral Contributions From Inside/Outside Somerville

I couldn't be prouder to be running a different type of campaign. A campaign funded by people who hail from all across Somerville. People who know we can -- and must -- do better to build the caring, strong, and bold community we need here.

Unsurprisingly, our volunteer base also hails from Somerville. With the exception of my mother who drove up from Providence to canvass with me, another canvasser’s mother who joined us, and a Cambridge City Councilor who knocked doors for us, all of our campaign volunteers to date have been from Somerville.

From our fundraising, to our volunteers, to our endorsements, this campaign started on Day One with the same priority we're fighting for today: it's about Somerville. It's about making this a city you can afford to live in. It's about the improving the City services that make your life better. It's about having a safe, welcoming, thriving community for all.

The work we have done to reach voters on their doors, in their mailboxes and inboxes, on social media, and out in the community has us feeling cautiously optimistic going into tomorrow’s big preliminary election. But in a tough three-way race, getting out our vote is everything, so we need you to vote by 8 PM tomorrow if you haven’t already!

Our campaign has a full day lined up for me tomorrow, from the opening of polls at 7 AM to awaiting returns after polls close. You can find your polling place here. If you need a ride to the polls or have any questions about voting, please email our campaign manager, Spencer, at [email protected].

Thank you for your support to date in this race -- and here’s to a result on Tuesday night that reflects the work we’ve put into this campaign so far!

We need your help on Preliminary Day!

9/16 Preliminary Day GOTV volunteering

We need all hands on deck on Tuesday, and you can be a part of our campaign's crucial Get Out the Vote (GOTV) operation on Preliminary Day, when Somerville voters narrow the mayoral field to two candidates.

From standing out at the polls with signs, to helping call and text voters to remind them to vote, to giving rides to the polls, to calling in precinct totals to our campaign headquarters when polls close, we have a wide variety of roles for you if you're willing to give us a shift -- or more -- on Preliminary Day!

We have shifts available morning, mid-day, afternoon, and evening, so please sign up for a shift or two and help us get through the preliminary and on to November!
