On Friday our campaign marked a major milestone when I became the first mayoral candidate in Somerville to get certified on the ballot for the 2025 election. I want to thank everyone who helped gather signatures and the over 300 people who signed my nomination papers.

Whether it's nomination papers becoming available or simply the fact we're now into the second half of May, this week felt like a major shift in the campaign. It felt like noticeably more people aware of the election happening this year when I knocked their doors.

This is a crucial portion of the campaign before people start going away on vacation in July and August. It's all hands on deck, so I'm asking for your support, both as a donor and as a volunteer.

May 24: Saturday Canvassing

If you haven't yet had the chance to join us canvassing, we'll be going door to door across town talking to people about Jake and the campaign to raise awareness and support. In a grassroots campaign like ours, this kind of outreach is critical to success, and giving your time in this way is so impactful.

Whether it's your first or 1,002nd time canvassing, we will ensure you have everything you need to feel confident out on the doors. All you need to worry about bringing is some comfortable walking shoes, a friendly attitude, and your fully-charged phone to enter information in the canvassing app and stay in contact with the team. We also recommend bringing a friend to make canvassing even more fun.

If you've already helped out and joined us before, we will give you new campaign literature and the latest talking points, and let you tackle your turf as you like!

We had a great time seeing everyone who joined us at the Armory this past Wednesday. It was incredible to see faces new and familiar enjoying the music, food, and learning more about how we can move Somerville forward. For those who couldn't join us, we'll be featuring some of those posters on social media. And be on the lookout for another event like this in the future.

For those already craving another time to gather as a community, you can mark your calendars now as we will be hosting an event out on the lovely back patio at Daddy Jones on Wednesday, June 25.

Come hear updates on the campaign, hear from speakers, and talk to Jake about his plan to bring our city forward while enjoying complimentary Greek fare and a cash bar. While a campaign contribution is greatly appreciated, by no means is it required to attend.
