Summer is here, and things definitely are heating up in the mayoral contest.

I've been out on the doors since March. From knocking thousands of doors, it's been clear for a while that voters are ready for new leadership in City Hall. As the spring progressed and voters began engaging with the race and looking at their options, we started identifying more and more voters who expressed strong support and committed their votes to our campaign this fall.

Polling on the race has confirmed what our campaign had been picking up on in those conversations on the doors: we're the frontrunners in this mayoral campaign.

Now it's important to keep this in context. It's still June and there's a long way to go before the preliminary election in September. But this is really great validation of our belief this is the campaign Somerville voters will choose to move this city forward.

But we need your help -- as a volunteer and a donor -- to make this happen. Please consider giving your time, talent, and treasure to help us get over the line this fall!

Fundraiser this Wednesday: Join us at Daddy Jones!

POPPING OFF | Celebration & Fundraiser Wednesday, June 25, 6-8 PM

This Wednesday night is all about Magoun Square and we have a campaign event conveniently planned there that night. Start out at Trum Field for the Somerville Musuem and Racial and Social Justice Department's annual reading of Frederick Douglass's "What to the Slave is the Fourth of July" at 5:30. Then join us at the back patio of Daddy Jones right in the heart of Magoun Square.

We'll have fantastic Greek fare, a cash bar, and a great chance to catch up on the campaign and hear about how you can help give our city a brighter future. Please RSVP here.

Then stick around for fireworks right there over Trum Field once it gets dark!

Canvassing this Saturday

Relief is on the way from this week's heat wave, and the forecast looks reasonable for this weekend. And with June set to be our biggest month yet, we want to finish strong with some productive canvassing. That means we need you! Sign up for a shift to knock doors on Saturday here.

Our team is always ready to go -- rain or shine -- and we want nothing more than to have you out there with us! Whether this is your first or 2,045th canvass, we will get you set up and ready to get out there. And if you already know you can make it, why not invite a friend or two? We can send you out together for a fantastic day out talking to neighbors about the campaign.
