In my many conversations with voters, perhaps the most common thing I hear is a desire for a mayor who is available to the public.
We've emerged from the pandemic, but the Mayor's Office door has remained closed and locked. This has proven a major frustration to the people of this city, who feel disconnected from their mayor and their municipal government. As your next mayor, I'll make sure that door is opened and unlocked, and I'll hold regular office hours to meet with constituents. I'll never forget who I work for and I'll make sure you have access to your mayor.
And I'll show up. To work in person in the Mayor's Office. To School Committee meetings as an ex-officio member. To City Council meetings so the council can hear directly from the mayor. And to events and meetings in the community to talk to constituents.
I don't need to schedule "listening sessions" to find out what constituents think, because I'm always listening. I'll continue what I've done as your City Councilor-At-Large and go meet people where they're at, to find out what people want and need from the City of Somerville. It's the only way I know to operate as an elected official.
I'll be the people's mayor with an emphasis on public service and communication. Because you can't serve the public if you're not available and accountable to the public.

Come get in on the canvassing fun!

We had our biggest canvassing event yet this past weekend, proving how our volunteers are making a huge difference in this campaign. We want to keep building on this momentum, but we can't do that without your help. As we continue with our Monday phone bank events, our weekend canvassing grows more and more important as we get closer to the preliminary election in September. We need you out there with us to make sure we get the leadership we need in Somerville.
With flexible time slots in the morning, mid-day, and afternoon, we are ready to work with your schedule, so please get in touch and sign up for a slot! We are more than happy to send you out with a friend as well, so be sure to let your friends and neighbors know and show up as a pair! Here is the link to RSVP for Saturday's canvass.
Campaigns are powered by volunteers, and we're always looking to get more folks out there spreading the word with us. In person, over the phone, even online, you can make a huge difference in in our city by signing up to join us as a volunteer.
